As an aside, like you I tend to see metis and tacit knowledge as fairly interchangeable. If I had to make a distinction, I might say that metis is the set of tacit knowledge that applies within a domain — so a kind of grouping function on the more general concept of tacit knowledge. That distinction is probably too subtle for most practical purposes :-D
